Daytona Beach Attorneys - Durable Power of Attorney

What is a durable power of attorney?

A durable power of attorney is a legal document that authorizes another person, known as the "attorney in fact", to act as your agent.  In Florida, you can name a person in your durable power of attorney to arrange or give consent for medical procedures (such as surgery) for you.  A durable power of attorney should be notarized, and witnessed by two witnesses.  Because a durable power of attorney also deals with property, you should consult Daytona Beach attorneys before signing this legal document. A durable power of attorney can provide your "attorney in fact" with as limited or broad powers as you desire. Again, you should consult with an attorney if you desire to have a durable power of attorney.
